Lineup Changes and Latest News
Posted 3/22/06
We are happy to welcome our newest members to the PMS family:
*Andrew Gonzales, guitarist for Soulblood Divide, has stepped up and offered his assistance in taping, production coordination, and editing.
*Desirae' and *Tiffany Durant are the shows newest 2 co hosts.
Desirae' is also assisting in editing and band relations, while Tiffany is going to head up promotion of the show.
At the end of the season, Tim Bartlett of Noisefarm Studios (also, the bassist for Masochism) has agreed to master and distribute our "Pure Metal Sickness Season 1" compilation CD We are going to need all the bands we air in Season 1, who want to be included on this CD, to provide us with the song track of their choice as soon as they can, so we can get started. Please contact us so we can make arrangements to obtain release forms for the use of your music from those that wish to participate.
Our main host and Production Coordinator, Tammy Moore, will soon be getting her producer's license to begin production of our upcoming spin off show called "Pure Metal Epidemic." The focus of the new show will be on national and international metal acts who tour through Texas and will include interviews conducted by one member of the PME crew, in addition to one local artist that will be selected to co-host each interview thus continuing the on going mission to draw attention to the local metal community.
We would like to thank Ryan Rasco, Andy McGee, and Brittney Whitten (who have all amicably departed PMS) for their contributions to the show and continued dedication and support for the Texas metal scene. We appreciate all they have done for us.
PMS has now won 2 awards in its first season. #1 Best Public Access Music Show of 2005 in The Edge Magazine's Austin Readers Poll and #3 Best Music Television Series of 2005 in The Austin Chronicle's Readers Poll. We are so proud about accomplishing so much in our very first season and we want to express our love and gratitude for all the people who voted for us.
Pure Metal Sickness at Redrum!
Posted 3/22/06
REDRUM, Austin's true 'New Home For METAL', is in the process of upgrading the venue to accomodate the bands we champion by recently adding 6 feet of playing area to the stage and purchasing a new 42-channel sound board. PMS has officially entered into an agreement to film our metal bands exclusively at REDRUM and if you doubt this cool venue's newfound dedication to the metal...check out their new logo on the club's myspace site at www.myspace.com/redrumclubaustin, designed exclusively for REDRUM by Images Of Violence' Jonzig.

Pure Metal Sickness Wins Best Public Access Music Show!
Posted 2/5/06
Pure Metal Sickness won Best Public Access Music Show in the Edge Magazine's Best of 2005 Poll!!!!!
As Executive Producer of Pure Metal Sickness, I would like to say that I had no idea that we were going to win this!!!! I got a call from Sharon Jones yesterday telling me we had. Apparently, in our first season we won and even beat Rawtime (which had won every one of the previous 8 years!) No disrespect to Rawtime or Dave Prewitt as they are always appreciated for promoting the local music and I give them Kudos for continuing this effort for so long. What a true honor it is to be recognized in this manner when we haven't even completed our first season!!!
This only reflects the STRENGTH OUR METAL SCENE HAS GAINED in the last year; and I know that this is all due to the support of our METAL BROTHERS AND SISTERS who have COME OUT AND SUPPORTED OUR LOCAL METAL BANDS!!!!!
We have great things in store for 2006!!!! We keep getting better and so does our metal scene.... This is a far cry from what things were like a year ago, and I am so proud of ALL OF YOU, because it is YOU WHO HAS MADE THIS HAPPEN! All PMS has done has given YOU the spotlight!
AUSTIN METAL BANDS: this win is for YOU! YOU DID THIS, AND MY CREW WHO HAS WORKED SO HARD DID THIS!!!!!
Congratulations are in order, not for Pure Metal Sickness, but for ALL OF US.
As far as I and my crew are concerned, Pure Metal Sickness does not belong to just me, or my crew but to ALL OF US!!!! It has taken a village to raise this baby! PAT YOURSELVES ON THE BACK FOR THIS KICK ASS ACCOMPLISHMENT!!!!!
Thank you all for your support and for continuing to support this metal scene! Please keep coming out to these shows and letting these bad ass artists know how much we love them and want to see them succeed!!!!

Tammy Moore Leaves the Backroom
Posted 7/3/05
Tammy Moore has recently been released from her job at The Backroom as Booking Agent.
Tammy has been a huge part of the Metal music scene in Austin - she has worked tirelessly to turn the Backroom into
THE premiere metal venue in Texas and has given so many bands opportunities that wouldn't have had otherwise. She has
always worked hard behind the scenes to put together big shows and raise the profile of metal music in our community.
She will no longer be involved with The Backroom, but don't worry! Tammy is our Metal Consultant and one of the hosts
of Pure Metal Sickness, so expect to see her on the show in the near future!
